Galaxy signed Home Grown Player Jose Villarreal

The Galaxy have signed one of their Home Grown Player targets, 18-year-old midfielder Jose Villarreal He's in his first season in the Galaxy Academy after helping Pateadores, a south Orange County club, to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy U-17/18 title in July.

Villarreal (Inglewood/Leuzinger HS) was part of the U.S. under-23 national team's camp last month in Germany and has played for the U.S. under-18 team.

“He has a tremendous amount of promise and potential, and we’re excited that he’ll be able to continue his development with the first team,” Klein a former Galaxy midfielder who is senior director of the club's academy program, said in a news release.

Villarreal, in the same release: “It’s been my dream ever since I was little to be a professional soccer player, so to be able to do that and stay close to home so that I can play in front of my family and friends is a dream come true. Growing up here in the area, I’ve always watched the Galaxy and been a fan of the team, so this will be a great experience for me.”

Juninho Gone resigns for SPFC

Donovan to Return to Goodison Park


Everton have reached an agreement in principle to bring Landon Donovan back to the Club on a short-term loan from LA Galaxy.
Discussions have been taking place between Goodison Park officials, LA Galaxy and Major League Soccer over the past 72 hours. The agreement reached on Thursday is pending paperwork to be finalised, and has the American international arriving to Everton over the Christmas period ahead of a two-month loan.

He would be eligible to play in Everton's game against Bolton Wanderers on 4 January, with the loan lasting until after the Merseyside derby at Anfield on 25 February.
Blues boss David Moyes said: "I am delighted that we have managed to get Landon back. He will give us some good experience over January and February.

Marcelo Sarvas to LA Galaxy Done Deal



Marcelo Sarvas will join the Galaxy from the Costa Rican club, head coach Bruce Arena said on Monday. The 30-year-old Brazilian will help bolster LA in 2012 as they will look to repeat as MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield champions.

“He’s played against us twice this year, so we know the player," Arena told reporters during a conference call on Monday. "He’s a good player. He’s a good passer and is an experienced two-way midfielder. I think he’s going to be a good addition.”

Sarvas has played for several clubs prior to arriving in Costa Rica. He spent time with four different Swedish clubs from 2004-08 before moving to Polonia Warsaw for a spell.
A native of São Paulo, Sarvas came up through the youth ranks of Brazilian powerhouse SC Corinthians Paulista. He was also an integral part of Alajuelense’s Verano 2011 title-winning side after joining the Costa Rican side in 2010.
